Damira Kamchibekova
Damira Kamchibekova joined Kalbian Hagerty LLP in 2006. Ms. Kamchibekova's experience includes complex civil litigation, federal tax controversies, sovereign representation and international litigation and arbitration matters.
Specifically, Ms. Kamchibekova has assisted with the firm’s representation of clients in connection with complex Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act litigation. She has also worked on cases involving: multi-million dollar investment fraud litigation, international arbitration under the ICC, AAA and LCIA rules, representation of a Middle-Eastern Central bank in wrongful attachment litigation and a North African Embassy in a breach of contract dispute. Ms. Kamchibekova is part of the Kalbian Hagerty team representing an American individual in multi-billion dollar litigation against a Saudi Arabian partnership. She also enjoys working on pro bono asylum matters.
Ms. Kamchibekova has a diverse educational background with a focus on international law and international dispute resolution. She obtained her first degree in law from a leading university in Uzbekistan graduating at the top of her class, followed by an M.Jur. degree from Oxford and LL.M in International and Comparative Law from the GWU Law School as a Thomas Buergenthal scholarship recipient.
Ms. Kamchibekova is admitted to practice law in New York only. Her practice in D.C. is limited to cases in federal courts and agencies.
