Elizabeth A. Andrews has over 20 years of experience in tax law. She specializes in general corporate and transactional matters.
Elizabeth provides in-depth advice on a wide range of issues relating to complex domestic and international tax matters to large publicly held and private companies. The matters she advises on include: corporate and partnership business strategy; global joint ventures, and cross-border acquisition of foreign companies by U.S.-based or foreign-based multinational corporations, transfer pricing, captive insurance, controlled foreign corporations, as well as subpart F issues and foreign tax credit utilization planning. Ms. Andrews has years of experience organizing the operations of multi-national business groups to achieve lower global effective tax rates.
Previous to joining Kalbian Hagerty’s tax practice, Elizabeth was Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, at Marriott International, Inc, where she was responsible for leading M&A due diligence teams, identifying potential acquisition targets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements related to potential M&A transactions, including confidentiality agreements, joint venture agreements and sale purchase agreements.
Elizabeth also served as Marriott International’s Vice President, International Tax Planning, Corporate Tax Department, where she structured all global tax planning initiatives and oversaw international tax compliance. During her tenure, Andrews also restructured the cash flows related to Marriott’s and initiated all global tax planning initiatives and international operations, resulting in a significant reduction in Marriott’s effective tax rate. Andrews also led tax due diligence teams and executed value added tax (VAT) planning.
