Matt Campbell is Of Counsel to Kalbian Hagerty LLP and has over 10 years of extensive experience in tax law. He focuses his practice in international taxation, mergers and acquisitions, federal tax credits and incentives, tax controversy and general corporate matters. Matt provides advice on a wide-range of issues relating to domestic and international tax matters for clients that include large publicly-held companies, private and start-up companies, nonprofit organizations and individuals. The matters he advises on include inbound and outbound cross-border investment, acquisitions and divestitures, controlled foreign corporation planning, IC-DISC planning and FIRPTA planning. He has drafted tax opinions and IRS private letter ruling requests and further assists companies with regard to employee hiring incentives and other federal tax incentives.

Matt previously served as a four-state regional lead for international taxation in Houston, Texas at BKD, LLP the nation's 10th largest accounting firm and was a 2010 Iowa candidate for U.S. Congress. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC where he obtained a LL.M. in taxation and received his law degree from the University of Iowa. He further holds a bachelor's of arts degree in economics and political science from Morningside College through which he studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan.
