Our attorneys represent international clients in acquiring, developing, owning and selling real estate.  We offer considerable experience in the specialized area of structuring equity investments in cross-border real estate transactions.  These investments often involve non-US participants with unique business, legal, and tax concerns, who must navigate among the conflicting requirements of US and international tax laws, securities regulations, and general real estate and partnership law.  Our tax lawyers help international clients achieve desired tax results by structuring real estate transactions to minimize the level of foreign and U.S. taxation.

For select clients, we serve as fiduciaries in connection with owning and operating commercial, retail, and residential properties.  This entails coordinating, managing, and overseeing third party vendors and service providers including debt and equity providers, management companies, accountants, appraisers, construction companies, insurance agents and handling other day-to-day management issues particular to the clients’ needs.
